One man.
One shop.
No retreat.
On the evening of 18 October, the streets of central Milan filled with smoke and broken glass. Shutters came down, windows went in, and most people ran.
He didn't. A man in a grey T-shirt planted himself in front of his shop and refused to let the rioters through. The clip went around the world in an hour.
Nobody knows his name. Nobody needs to. In Milan he is already just the Defender. Somewhere, a nonna is very proud. 🤌
Protect the shop
The code of the Defender
Stand in front
When everyone runs, someone has to stay. The shutters don't guard themselves.
Hold the line
No speeches, no cameras, no drama. Feet planted, shop behind you, hand doing the 🤌.
Espresso after
When the street goes quiet, you open up, sweep the glass and put the moka on. Then pasta. Always pasta.
“Not my shop.”The Defender, probably, with the hand 🤌
